About

Karin
McDonald

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Karin McDonald began her career as a Children’s Wear Designer, then a wife and mother of three and now has reignited her love of painting. As part of her undergraduate studies, she incorporated a study abroad experience and studied at the Leo Marchutz School in Aix-en-Provence, France. Three decades later, Karin returned to France for a week long workshop and has now refocused her passion and energy into painting again.

Karin currently exhibits her work in Wisconsin local juried shows including the Riverfront Arts Center-Stevens Point, the Central Wisconsin Cultural Center, the Alexander House-Port Edwards, and the Center for Visual Arts-Wausau.

She has received recognition for her work in the WI State Exhibit Show with the Association of Wisconsin Artists (WRAP).

Karin is an active member with Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, Wisconsin Plein Air Painters Association, WRAP and the Urban Sketchers of Waupaca, Wisconsin.

She has participated in Plein Air workshops in Central Wisconsin with Tom Nachreiner, Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin with Jan Norsetter, Paris, France with Christine Lashley and Aix-en-Provence, France with Jill Steenhuis.
